Tuition Insurance provides peace of mind by reimbursing tuition costs if a student withdraws at any time during the semester for a covered reason, such as:

Tuition insurance allows you to protect your investment beyond the University’s Refund Policy. Tuition insurance can reimburse you for non-refundable tuition, fees, and room and board costs (up to the amount of your policy limits) should you have to withdraw from school for a covered illness or injury.

Tuition insurance is completely optional. Students have the choice to opt-in through Touchnet to protect their education investment.

Yes, the University offers a pro-rated withdrawal policy based on the official last date of attendance. Tuition insurance provides coverage beyond the University’s pro-rated withdrawal time frame for tuition, fees, room and board charges for covered injuries or illnesses.

The cost of tuition insurance is $120.00 per term for a coverage of $10,000. It is 1.20% of the amount you wish to insure. GradGuard will assist you with a coverage calculator to determine recommended coverage amounts.

No. Tuition insurance only applies when you are officially withdrawn from ALL classes for the term in which tuition insurance was purchased.

Students have access to a 24-hour Student Life Assistance hotline for help in navigating emergencies and unexpected issues.

No, this insurance does not cover adjustments, disruptions or withdrawals due to change in University operations resulting from COVID-19, such as changes to instruction delivery methods, availability of housing and dining plans or other campus operation adjustments made by DelVal or directed by public officials. The insurance covers a student’s withdrawal from the University for covered illnesses and injuries.
