Horus Health streamlines auditing and billing compliance workflows in hospitals with AI and automated tools.��

Healthcare organizations spend $39 billion per year to comply with 629 federal regulatory requirements. At the same time, there's been rising government pressure on health systems to be compliant with CMS guidelines and ensure fraud and errors don't occur in their billing. Health systems are fined $100 to $50,000 per violation, with a maximum fine of $1.5 million per violation category.

To better understand hospital billing compliance, we've engaged with over 50 compliance officers, providers, and auditors. We're collaborating with Karen Smith, VP & Billing Compliance Officer at Penn Med, to ensure Horus fits their needs. Compliance analysts currently use four applications—EHRs, auditing software, Excel spreadsheets, and CMS Internet-Only Manuals (IOMs)—for risk-based auditing.

CMS IOMs are updated frequently and are lengthy, making them time-consuming for auditors. To address this, we've developed Horus, an RAG-enabled LLM copilot that allows auditors to interact with manual information via a chat-based interface, piloting on September 1st. Through this tool, we've turned a task that took the Billing Compliance Officer of Penn Med 1.5 hours to 6 seconds with extreme accuracy and citations.

We've also learned that risk assessments are conducted using rudimentary Excel spreadsheets, making it hard to identify errors. Horus will autonomously scan for billing anomalies, transforming retroactive compliance into proactive compliance. Additionally, in reference to current auditing systems such as MDaudit and MRO, we’ve heard that these interfaces are “slow,” “not very functional so we’re doing them by hand,” and “just checking a box if we see text.” During our development, we’ve made sure to keep these responses in mind to inform our UI/UX design and implementation. Furthermore, we have an IRB-approved research proposal at 2 regional Vanderbilt hospitals in order to provide concrete evidence of our software's features.

Our goal is to develop a comprehensive auditing suite by Q2 2025, integrating with existing systems like MRO and MD-Audit. Securing enterprise-level contracts with this software will drive significant profits in 2025 and beyond. We've also recently established a partnership with Ronan Healthcare Compliance, one of the largest 3rd party healthcare billing compliance services in the country.

Level Up Logistics, LLC was formed in 2020 as an interdependent contractor for Amazon or Delivery Service Partner. After 4.5 years, we have extended yet another contract with Amazon and remain a top performer. Level Up Learning Academy was developed in 2023 to provide a pathway of promotion initially for my employees to obtain their CDL (commercial driver's license). After researching the need for 1.1 million CDL drivers in 2023, Level Up teamed up with the Montgomery County and Norristown Chambers as well as Career Link and PA.gov to launch our own CDL Academy.��

Vivaldi is a startup currently in the process of building out a minimum-viable product. We offer "Software as a Service" solution to instantly verify building designs against international construction codes, provide feedback, and approve plans for projects to move forward.��

The process of obtaining a building permit - whether to construct a building from scratch, uplift an interior, or replace a roof on a home - is lengthy, complex, and opaque. Building codes span thousands of pages and can take months to assess against a new design. This delays construction for businesses and families alike, adding costs to projects and risk to move-in dates. It is regrettably common for a project to miss deadlines, and cost millions more, because of a longer-than-expected permit application process.

Using machine learning and AI models, Vivaldi extracts relevant information from building schematics, evaluates them against applicable sections of building code, and provides instant feedback alerting designers, engineers, and approvers to gaps. We reduce review times from months to seconds and prepare designers to pass permitting review with their first submission.��
