TJ Smith ’22, 13 F, Forward Observer – Sergeant, Pa. National Guard

“I wanted to be able to contribute to the United States and make my mark on the world outside of college.” Smith earned their bachelor of science degree in Secondary Education with a specialization in Agriculture in 2022. One day, Smith plans to use their degree to become a teacher, but for now, they are applying their skills and experience gained at DelVal to serve their country overseas.

"I had the privilege of attending an event presented by the Graduate Psychology Speaker’s Series and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion centered around a short documentary about Pennsylvania’s Lenape Nation, “Keepers of the Way.” The evening included a screening of the “Keepers of the Way” documentary and a panel discussion and Q&A with the director, producer, and the Lenape tribal members of the film."
