Victorian Floral Design Workshop

Flowers As A Means of Communication

This is a non-credit, hands-on, on-site, outdoor Spring floral design workshop led by master floral designer Melissa Palmer. Learn about the unique history of Victorian floral design including the history of the “tussie-mussie” fad and learn the key to uncoding the different hidden messages conveyed in these meaningful bouquets and assigned to these beautiful flowers. Although Victorian bouquets were used as a means to convey such sentiments such as the desire for courtship, friendship among other sentiments, this class will show you how to create a masterful aromatic friendship bouquet using Tulips, Irises, Rosemary and more in addition to a tussie-mussie adornment of your very own!
